Whilst the custom 16 Channel SSL G Series Console may take centre stage, the extraordinary array of classic outboard gear and top of the range monitoring from ATC rounds of the control room as an environment perfect for mixing as well as tracking. The studio's extensive collection of synthesizers and drum machines are wall mounted, wired to the patchbay and linked via midi for ease of use. All cabling used throughout the studio is high grade Van Damme to ensure perfect signal quality.
Flexibility is key in the live room, with enough space for a large band to play together, a sizeable adjacent booth for instrument isolation and interchangeable acoustic panels for a variety of room sounds. Some of the highlights of our instrument collection are housed here, notably, an impeccably reconditioned Yamaha U1 upright piano, a Wurlitzer 200a and a beautiful early 70s LA Camco drum kit.
Another separate vocal booth adjacent to the control room and a separate amp room provide further useful isolation of sound, the latter containing a wide selection of desirable guitar and bass amplifiers.
Upstairs there is a large comfortable lounge area that serves either as the perfect space to take a break from the session, to conduct meetings or intimate writing sessions. Recently referbished with a newly installed kitchen and bathroom, reliable internet and an Xbox with Netflix, anyone looking to make Baltic their second home whilst recording will be perfectly content.
We have secure private carparking outside the studio in a gated courtyard. Please let us know if you require parking when booking.
