    Location

    Baltic is located a few minutes walk from Haggerston station in East London, well connected to travel links across London.

    For those travelling by Eurostar, we are 25 minutes from Kings Cross St Pancras.

    For clients arriving into a London airport, we are 25 mins drive from London City Airport, 45 mins from Stansted, and 1 hour from Heathrow. Please contact us if you would like help arranging your travel.

    FAQ

    Does the studio come with an assistant?

    Yes, our studio rates include an assistant who will help you set up and navigate the studio during your session.

    Will I require an engineer?

    1. An engineer is needed if you require someone to operate Pro Tools and handle studio equipment throughout your session.

    Can I film my session?

    1. Yes, filming is allowed but may incur an additional cost depending on the nature of the filming. Please specify the type of filming, its intended use, and the number of crew members in your enquiry.

    Are there studios suitable for orchestral work, string or choir recording?

    Yes, Studio 1 is suitable for small string ensembles and choirs. Studio 2 is suitable for larger orchestral work and choral sessions.

    Does the studio have parking?

    We have a number of parking spaces available on request. Please specify the number of cars you will require parking for in your enquiry.

    Does the studio provide catering services?

    The studio does not offer catering services as standard. If you require catering, please mention this in your enquiry so we can assist you in arranging it.

    Can I use my own laptop and interface in the studio?

    Yes, our studios support external laptops and interfaces.
    We have two options for laptop connectivity. You can use our 2 channel plug and play SSL interfaces or one of our Symphony i/o MMKIIs. Please get in touch ahead of your session if you need to request either of these.

    Does the studio come equipped with backline?

    Yes, a full list of our equipment can be found on each of our studio pages.

    How long can I book the studio for?

    Our studios can be booked for either a half day (5 hours) or a full day (10 hours)

    Do you offer hourly rates?

    Generally sessions run for a minimum of 5 hours. However, shorter sessions may be possible depending on the session’s nature and availability.

    What happens if I want to continue into overtime?

    We aim to give our staff adequate rest between sessions, so we generally do not encourage overtime. However, if necessary, overtime may be possible at an additional hourly rate. Please notify us in advance if you anticipate a longer session so we can best accommodate your needs.

    Do you offer mixing, mastering, and atmos services?

    Yes, we offer mixing, mastering & atmos services, provided by our in-house engineer, Digby Smith.

    Can I smoke in the studio?

    Smoking is strictly prohibited in the studio. We have a dedicated outside smoking area for clients.

    Do you offer internships or work experience?

    We currently don’t offer any internships or work experience. We may in the future, so please continue to check our website for updates.

    Do you have any assistant or engineer positions open?

    Are your studios accessible?

    Baltic is unfortunately not yet as accessible as we would like it to be, and as we intend it to be in the near future.
    Studio 1 is located on a basement level and Studio 3 is located on the 1st floor – both are accessed via a set of stairs. Studio 2 is located on ground level and has a single step to enter. We do not have an accessible toilet at present.     As a part of our future plans, we are prioritising accessibility and are sorry that we’re not there yet.
